Coaching: Joe Barry Named New USC Linebackers Coach

Joe comes from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and will reunite with Monte Kiffin. He has roots at SC as a former player and graduate assistant.

Kiffin continues to dial up the hatred from Tenn fans as Joe was recently being considered for the Tenn DC job.

Can't comment much on his coaching skills, but I really like Rocky as a person. He just seems like a genuine and honest guy that looks out for his players. There have been at least a 3-4 recruits in the '09 class that have cited certain coaching staff members being serious about their faith as a big reason why they chose SC.

BUZZ:  Ruel was a serious candidate for national recruiter of the year with an average star ranking for his six signees of 4.17.

He helped recruit five-star offensive linemen Matt Kalil and Tyron Smith, but he helped pull in one of the biggest Signing Day surprises when he able to get Rivals100 cornerback T.J. Bryant away from the grips of Miami and Florida State.

Coach Ruel was also named one of the top 25 recruiters nationally.  Also have to give credit to Coach Seto for helping with T.J. Bryant.  Excellent job by both coaches.
