From Rivals.com:
Jrue Holiday scored seven of his 13 points in the first four minutes of the third quarter to spark the USA to an 11-0 run and a comfortable, 98-78 victory over the World Select Team at the Nike Hoop Summit in Portland, Ore.
The USA's 20-point margin of victory tied the game's record for victory margin and is the USA's seventh straight victory in the event.
In a balanced scoring attack that saw six of the 10 U.S. players score in double digits, forward DeMar DeRozan, who is headed to Southern California next fall, finished with a game-high 17 points, while forward Drew Gordon – one of four USA players who will play at UCLA next fall – scored15 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Good start for Demar.

Pretty lackluster McDonald's All-American game. Even though the All-American game is a bad place to judge talent, this year's squad was noticeably sub-par, especially compared to last year's group. Tyreke Evans, the MVP of the game, was nice but I've always felt that he has a pretty average outside jumper. His handles, however, are simply amazing and he gets to the hole really well for his size. The most talented player on either squad was former SC commit, Brandon Jennings, by far. Kid has a lot of swagger, but he's going to be a load for Lute Olson with his desire to make the highlight plays and freewheeling style. If Lute can harness his style of play, he'll be a big star.
Demar never really got anything going so not much to say on him. He definitely has the talent to be a star player, but still needs to polish up a few things in his game. As I've mentioned before, I really like B.J. Mullens, and he showed his soft hands and ability to finish around the rim numerous times in the game. Another kid I was very impressed with was Mike Rosario, who is headed to Rutgers. I used to think he was a one-trick pony when I would watch St. Anthony's games, but you can tell he's been coached well and has a high basketball IQ. He definitely needs to work on his handles though cause Jrue Holiday was exposing him.
The UCLA guys, Jrue Holiday and Malcolm Lee, both looked good. I've mentioned before that I think Jrue is the best player in the '08 class; his on-the-ball defense is simply awesome. No doubt he'll be a lottery pick very soon. Malcolm Lee needs to develop physically, but he definitely has the tools to be a standout player.
One player I just don't understand is Samardo Samuels. I honestly don't understand how ESPN ranks him the #2 prospect in the nation. I've watched St. Benedict's games and his footwork, athleticism, and overall game just doesn't impress me enough to be considered a top 5 player.

Pretty nasty. I've seen better from Demar, but those were still nice. The 2nd dunk in the video involved Malcolm Lee, who was acting like he was guiding a plane for take-off and Jrue Holiday who threw the alley-oop from the sidelines - both players are future Bruins. Watching the Kid 'N Play version of Brandon Jennings jumping on Demar after his "Tap the Baby" dunk really makes you wonder what could have been if he stayed at SC. Also check out this video interview of Demar from today's practice. The All-American game will air later today at 6:30 PM EST on ESPN.

From Rivals.com:
Making a formidable tandem on the wing for the West squad, Demar DeRozan and Hopson played on another level athletically than their teammates. Both players shot the ball well from the outside, and unlike the smaller guards on the West, finished with authority at the rim. Hopson perhaps had the play of the day with a resounding dunk over Greg Monroe.
...Two likely starters Jrue Holiday of the West and Tyreke Evans of the East didn't make it to Milwaukee in time for practice because of flight complications. In their absence, both squads practiced with what appeared to be a first team.
For the West the first five consisted of Brandon Jennings at the one, Malcolm Lee at the two, DeRozan at the three, Monroe at the four and B.J. Mullens at the five.
That is one NASTY five right there; I like every single player in that line-up. Brandon is as exciting as they come with his athleticism and ability to create on the break. Jrue is steady, intelligent, and very polished; IMO, he is the top player in the '08 class. Demar has elite athleticism combined with an effective jumper and is explosive going to the rim. Greg Monroe is Beasley-esque in that he's a very athletic 4 that can hit outside, take you off the dribble, and also back you down. Finally, I really like B.J. Mullens even though he's not as polished as the other players in the starting five; I think he's a really heady player with great coordination for a 7 ft. big man.
