Boyer is a very talented wide receiver from Mater Dei HS and was considering attending USC, UCLA and Harvard. Last Thursday Boyer informed Pete Carroll and the USC coaching staff that he was going to attend USC because it was where he felt most comfortable.
“I felt comfortable with the coaching staff at USC and to get to play with some of my friends from Orange County and obviously my cousin (Matt Barkley) is going there, too. Basically USC was the place where I felt the most comfortable,” Boyer said of his decision.
Great pick-up for SC. At times last season, Robbie and Matt (Barkley) looked unstoppable. Maybe it was the innate timing of two cousins or both Robbie and Matt being talented players - probably a mixture of both. With Matt coming in '09, I would have to imagine Robbie getting some PT at some point in situational roles. Watch this video of Robbie (#10) and Matt playing pitch-and-catch.
