From Rivals.com:
After beating the Arizona State Sun Devils on the hardwood 67-53, the USC football staff scored another slam dunk on the recruiting trail. Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure four-star athlete Patrick Hall decided to end the recruiting process early to become the Trojans' seventh commitment for the class of 2009
I know nothing about Patrick, so can't comment on the commitment. He is rated a 4-star on Rivals (#39 overall) and is listed at 6-1 181 4.4 and as an "Athlete". Looks like the kid has nice size and speed to be a corner/safety prospect. I'll keep updating this post as more info becomes available. PC really seems like he's taking an aggressive approach with the '09 class.
Update: Quote from WeAreSC.com write-up:
“I’ve been an SC fan for a long time,” Hall said. “My cousin Keary Colbert played at USC, I’ve always watched them play on TV and like the way they compete. And that’s the type of program I want to be in. I need competition. I’ve wanted to go to USC since I was in junior high.”
...“Last season my main focus was on defense,” Hall said. “We had Darrell Scott and I would get a few carries a game. This year I’ll focus on offense and fill in when needed on defense. I’m looking forward to showing everyone what I can do this year.”
So he's being recruited as a RB? I guess he'll fill the speed back role. When Patrick enters SC, Joe will be a junior and C.J. a redshirt-junior.
