From Rivals.com:
A combo forward, Borchert worked primarily on the perimeter during the showcase. He made his share of jumpers and showed an ability to get his shot off the dribble. In regards to stretching his game away from the interior and becoming more of a wing player, he must improve his ability to distribute the ball to open teammates.
Plenty of schools are serious about the four-star prospect. Borchert claims offers from USC, Nebraska, UNLV, California and Kentucky with USC as his leader.
"USC is my leader because they have the perfect situation," said Borchert. "They have a brand new gym, a great coach and a very good team."
Borchert expects to have a decision at the end of the high school season.
Colin is a 6-8 230lb PF out of Glendale, AZ; he is currently rated 4-stars on Rivals and #95 in the top 100. Honestly, I haven't been too impressed with what I've seen so far from Colin. He has a nice shot, but isn't athletic/skilled enough to play the 3 and hangs around the wing too much to be a true 4 - Rivals calls this a "combo forward". It's easy to compare him to former SC hoops star Brian Scalabrine, but Brian to me was an anomaly, a special player that rose up out of nowhere and fell into the perfect situation, much like Ryan Francis.
With SC recruiting Renardo Sidney, John Henson, and Brendan Lane at the PF spot and Jordan Hamilton, Hollis Thompson, and Victor Rudd at the SF spot in 2009, plus the fact that we're going to be in the national spotlight this season like never before (translation: recruiting will be on the rise), maybe we're jumping the gun here? Might be harsh, but the next few years determine whether we're a true rising elite or just a flash in the pan.
