From DailyNews.com:
Although officially listed day- to-day, USC tailback Chauncey Washington is not expected to be available for the season-opener against Idaho, according to sources.
Washington sprained the AC joint in his right shoulder and is believed to have an injury similar to former wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett, who missed one game last season. A shoulder separation occurs in the AC joint and Jarrett's injury was described as a separation.
Washington underwent X-rays Thursday but said he did not know the results.
"I'm thinking (the rest of this) week and then try to be ready for the Idaho game," Washington said. "I'm thinking I'll be out until maybe Monday.
But other sources said Washington will miss the game and return for the Nebraska game on Sept. 15.
Hope Chauncey doesn't try to rush it. I'm more than confident with Stafon and Allen Bradford...
