Will Ronald Johnson Be Better Than Steve Smith?

B1

Mike Farrell of SportingNews.com believes so:

Ronald Johnson, USC. Stunning how another USC guy makes this list (they had two in the running back category I did in late March). Johnson, in this scenario, is replacing the departed Steve Smith -- not Dwayne Jarrett. Smith was a superior talent for Southern Cal and will be a very good NFL player. However, Johnson is already the same size as Smith. Johnson will get bigger and faster, and is a pure game-breaker. The only way Johnson doesn't surpass Smith's tremendous production at USC is if he moves to cornerback, where he would also be an upgrade. Verdict: Better.

I personally think it's a bit of a stretch, but I will admit that I never thought Steve Smith would come close to Keary Colbert.  Based on what I've seen of RoJo, there is no question that he's the greater game-breaker, but will he be as consistent and reliable as SS?  I'm not so sure about that one.  Opinions?

Agreed, can he at least play ONE down of football first.

rojo will be better than steve smith. i watched this kid play in high school and he refuses to lose and his work ethic is what will make him better

Yes, Ronald will be a much greater overall football player than Steve Smith. I, personally, know Ronald and played football both with him and against him in our developmental years of the game. I was one of very few quarterbacks to have the honor of handing the ball off to Ronald a couple of times, and, be tackled by him whenever he played cornerback. Speed, heart, and the will to win no matter what it takes. Ronald comes from a small town thats known for football. The likes of Jason Randall, Ashton Leggett, Paul Dye, David Fox, Anthony Crump, and Terrence Taylor have all come from the great county of Muskegon. Ronald knows how hard he's worked to get at the level he's at now; and trust me when I say, "He WILL, make the most of it. Be prepared to see him on Sundays."

i went to every highschool game on the sideline for ronald he is cash money he will kick he is my boy and steve smith sucks

Rojo is a bad dude and will be better than steve smith

i went to school with ronald and practicing with ronald and his encouraging spirit and the way he strives for greatness will cerainly make him better than just about any nfl player there was
